FS-Elliott is pleased to introduce the Triton™ line of refrigerant
centrifugal compressors. This innovative compressor was designed for extended
service life with fewer components and subsystems, resulting in the highest
degree of reliability. Advanced mechanical and aerodynamic features offer
“best-in-class” operating efficiencies.
The Triton® is based on a 2-stage
centrifugal compressor driven through a gear increaser by a semi-hermetically
sealed electric motor. The rotor assembly comprises a single pinion and shaft
with two high speed impellers and is supported by precision lubricated journal
and thrust bearings. State of the art backward leaning impeller design provides
superior aerodynamic performance characteristics over the entire operating range
of the refrigerant system.
The HFC R134a refrigerant path begins at the
optimized casing inlet. Here the flow is accurately controlled by an inlet guide
vane device. The flow then enters the first stage of compression and discharges
into an economizer, increasing the system’s efficiency. The flow then proceeds
into the second stage of compression and to the discharge volute.
The
Triton® T500 is the first of what will eventually become a full product line of
refrigerant compressors. Sized to efficiently drive a 500 Ton chiller package,
it is an excellent choice for mid to large scale commercial
applications.
